Tips to avoid breaking V2 masks

If you’re like me, you’ve probably broken hundreds of V2 masks while applying them to V2 helmets. Aggravating especially if they’ve been painted and then break during application.

Here’s a trick to keep from breaking these masks:

The V2 ear post is in the shape of a wedge that flares out at the top. Compared to the V1 ear post which is straight.

Tape off the ear post to protect the helmet finish and lightly file the wedge shape down until it is straight like the V1 helmet. Also take just a little off the top. If you are painting the helmet and the mask, take just a little extra off.

Your painted mask will now attach without breaking.

Great tip! I didn't even know that about the difference in the posts from v1 to v2.

I got these for about $10 from Amazon for stuff like this:
