I think what you're referring to is just the fact that sometimes I don't feel like the logo is large enough if I contain it entirely in the kidney-shaped side sticker, so I cheat. I'm sort of torn between wanting to stick to the traditional kidney-shaped stickers and just making the logo stickers free of that constraint like they are on the real helmets. Also, a guy named Jim in Arizona (moonslament on eBay) works that way and I think his work is the best I've seen, partly because he doesn't have that constraint. I also understand he uses a computer-controlled cutter, maybe like this one. I'll probably try that one in the near future and will report my experience in this forum.
Pics of the completed sets are attached. Click to see full size. I forgot to mention that the Stuttgart Surge showed a silver/gray shell before the season started but I believe has worn the white every game. And it was sort of funny, when I first saw the Cologne Centurions helmets, I said "What the heck is that color...no, seriously, what the heck IS that?" Then suddenly it dawned on me that it was a pretty close match for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pewter shell. Saves me some painting.
